Deer Hunting

Last weekend was the big deer-hunting opener. Which is a big deal in Aitkin world.
For months we feed the deer and lure them in close, and then at dawn on the first Saturday in November, we feed on deer. It’s a whole lot of fun getting up to speed on this if you haven’t grown up with it.
But it looks like Carson & Cole, unlike their daddy, will grow up with it. Last Saturday was their first day being around the action—though, of course, the boys themselves weren’t hunting for more than milk and naps.
Here’s some of the fun pics we captured along the way last weekend…

So happy together

I love the red plaid shirts! I’d be happy to send some white tiger paws for the orange caps. Go Clemson! I miss you all.

  2. Pam says:

Cute. Love the hunter orange. Mike killed his first deer this past weekend even though I told him to aim high. Any good recipes?

  3. Ashley (neighbor/pseudoAuntie) says:

    Oh, I miss them!

  4. Auntie Deb says:

Please be sure to post some pics from the boys’ first Thanksgiving. I’m so very thankful for my sweet nephews. Can’t wait to see all 4 of you in a few weeks for Christmas!!! 🙂
